A proposal for Konrad
An assistant on board
It handles the back-and-forth of bookings, questions, reminders and follow-ups, so you can spend your time on the water. You still make every call.
gatewayTo the
islands
You stay in charge. Nothing is confirmed, priced or sent without your OK.
Plain language. Ask it questions or give it instructions the way you would a person.
Starts small. One job first. More only if it saves you time.
Most of the work isn’t driving the boat.
Every trip means messages back and forth. Who is coming, what they are bringing, which ferry they are on, when they are heading home.
Then reminders, a new plan when a ferry runs late, and remembering who still owes what.
The assistant takes on that part. The boat gets your attention.
What it does
Six jobs it can take off your plate. We would start with the one that helps most.
Answers the routine questions
Replies to common questions, collects the details that are missing, and keeps every message tied to the right booking.
Plans the trip with you
Lines up pickup spots, passengers, cargo, return legs and ferry times against your schedule. Flags clashes and suggests options.
Sends reminders and follows up
Reminds people before pickup, chases missing details or unpaid balances, and tells you when something needs a decision.
Remembers your customers
Contact details, past trips and preferences in one place, so you are not digging through old messages.
Keeps track of payments
Agreed fares, deposits and balances, with payment reminders sent only under rules you approve.
Gives you a daily overview
One clear summary each morning: trips, passengers, cargo, pending decisions and follow-ups.
A few questions to explore together
What part of organising trips takes the most time or causes the most headaches?
How does a booking work today, from the first enquiry to payment?
Where do you keep track of everything, and how is TidyCal working for you?
What do you need to know before saying yes to a trip?
Passengers, cargo, pickup spots, ferry connections, return plans? What do people often forget to mention?
What rules should the assistant know?
Your availability, fares, passenger and cargo limits, deposits and cancellations.
What happens when plans change?
For late ferries, weather or last-minute requests, what could the assistant prepare, and what needs your decision?
What would you feel comfortable letting it handle?
What should always come to you for approval?
What’s the easiest way to reach you or get a quick approval while you’re out on the water?
What’s one small thing we could try first?
After a few weeks, what would make you say, “This is actually helping”?
You stay
the captain
The assistant organises, drafts, reminds and recommends. It never decides. We start with you reviewing everything it writes. As you get comfortable, let it handle routine questions and reminders on its own.
Only you decide
- Accepting or turning down a trip
- Prices and any exceptions
- Changes to the plan on the day
- Anything about safety, weather, tides or the water
The assistant handles
- Gathering trip details from customers
- Drafting replies, confirmations and reminders
- Keeping bookings, customers and payments in order
- Watching for ferry delays that affect a trip
- The morning overview
How we’d start
Talk
A conversation about how you work today and where the coordination gets most frustrating.
Build one thing
We pick the single most useful job and build a first version of just that.
Try it on real trips
A handful of bookings, with you checking every message it writes.
Grow if it helps
Add the other pieces once we have seen what actually saves you time.
Already using TidyCal?
Keep it. I’d like to hear how it is working for you. We can connect to it if you want to stay with it, or take a different approach, whichever suits the business.
The deal
No invoice. I build it and keep it running. You keep my family moving.
What you get
- A system built around how Your Water Taxi actually runs
- Ongoing support and maintenance for as long as you use it
- Scope, running costs and support expectations agreed before we start
What I’d ask
- Free rides for me, Jess and the kids while you are using it
- Ordinary family passenger trips, with reasonable availability and limits we agree on
- Guests, freight and special charters handled separately
Bigger additions get discussed separately. Either of us can end the arrangement with reasonable notice and an orderly handover of your booking and customer information.
Up for a conversation?
No commitment. I’d want to understand how you work today and make sure this solves the right problem before building anything.
